CEO Purushottam inspects arrangements in New Tehri

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Uttarakhand, BVRC Purushottam inspected the strong room and counting centre at ITI building, New Tehri on Tuesday.

 During his one day visit to Tehri, the CEO inspected the ITI building, visitor log book and the CCTV cameras installed in the strong room and their display. He directed the officers to keep round the clock vigil on the CCTV displays. The CEO also inspected the three-tier security arrangements, uninterrupted power supply and other security arrangements.

The district returning officer Mayur Dikshit informed the CEO that meetings with the representatives of the political parties are being held from time to time on security arrangements. He added that the officers are also conducting inspections as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.

 Chairing a meeting with the officials the CEO directed that all the arrangements such as appointment of counting supervisor, counting assistant and their training should be completed on time for smooth discharge of the counting work.  He also directed that the weekly meetings with the office bearers of the political parties should be held. The CEO took feedback on the election process and congratulated the officers and employees for the peaceful election.

The DM told the CEO that counting will be done on 14 tables in each assembly segment on the counting day.

He said that 77 per cent voting was reported in postal ballots and 99 per cent of the employees of the health department cast their vote.

 The Tehri SSP Navneet Singh Bhullar, CEO Abhisek Tripathi and other officers were present on the occasion.
