Heavy rain and snowfall alert alert issued for State

Heavy rain and snowfall is likely in parts of the State today. The State Meteorological Centre has issued an alert regarding the possibility of heavy rain/snowfall likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi and Rudraprayag districts on Wednesday.
Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/hail/intense spells of rain/gusty wind (40-50 kmph) is likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Dehradun and Tehri districts today. The meteorological centre has also issued a warning regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/gusty wind (40-50 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in Pauri, Almora, Nainital, Champawat, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts.
Apart from this, light to moderate rain is likely to occur at many places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts, at a few places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri and Almora districts and at isolated places in Nainital and Champawat districts. Additionally, very light to light rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain/thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/gusty wind (40-50 kmph) is likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius to 19 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Tuesday were 33.8 degrees Celsius and 19.7 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 31.8 degrees Celsius and 18.8 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 19 degrees Celsius and 9.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 22.4 degrees Celsius and 12.6 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. Light rain was also reported in parts of the State with 7.5 millimetres in Nainital and 7.4 millimetres in Mussoorie.
