MCH land purchase scam- Chauhan inspects site, questions officials

The investigation into the alleged land purchase scam of the Municipal Corporation of Haridwar (MCH) is progressing swiftly on the directions of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. In-charge of the investigation committee, secretary Ranveer Singh Chauhan reached Haridwar and inspected the land in question in Saray village. After inspecting the land, Chauhan questioned the MCH officials and lodged their statements. He also checked the documents related to the land scam. Chauhan said that it is too early to state anything about the case as the investigation is in its preliminary stage. All the officials and persons involved are being questioned and the documents are being checked. Those concerned are being questioned and further action will be taken based on what is ascertained from the questioning. Chauhan said that the probe will be completed within the given time frame as the CM has clearly directed that the truth should be ascertained. It will be recalled that about 33 bigha land in Saray village was purchased for Rs 58 crore by the MCH in 2024 though the actual cost was upto Rs 15 crore.
