Police demolished the house of Mushtaq Ahmed, the man who reportedly killed a woman named Pooja Vishwas in Haryana and dumped her headless body in Khatima, Udham Singh Nagar. Police said that Ahmed killed her to end the relationship.
According to the Udham Singh Nagar senior superintendent of police Manikant Mishra, Ahmed’s house in village Gaurikheda, Sitarganj, stood on encroached land. He stated that Ahmed’s father, Ali Ahmed, had reportedly constructed the house on Scheduled Tribe (ST) category land in Gaurikheda. The land belongs to Mathura Singh, a resident of village Tharu Gaurikheda, whose name is recorded as the rightful owner after the death of his father. The district officials also checked and confirmed that the construction was unauthorised.
Mishra said that the administration issued a notice to Ali Ahmed, instructing him to vacate the land. He did not respond to the notice. The police and district administration then proceeded with the demolition process on Monday. The whole procedure was done as per the rules, he added. Ahmed’s involvement in Vishwas’s murder came to light during investigation last week.
The victim was a resident of Nanakmatta who had been in a relationship with the accused for several years. They both were in a live-in relationship. Ahmed had married another woman in his village and wanted to get rid of Vishwas. He allegedly slit her throat about six months back and hid her body in Khatima. Her missing person report was filed in Haryana. Haryana police have arrested him.
