In latest news from Uttarakhand, as part of the campaign being run by Uttarkashi police against drug addiction and smuggling of drugs, a joint team of Purola police and Special Operation Group (SOG) nabbed three persons late in the night and booked them under relevant sections of NDPS Act for smuggling contrabands in a car from SSB Colony on Purola-Mori Road. The accused trio was identified as Shasti Prasad Bhatt (50), Monu Kumar (29) and Shabez (22) and the gaanja seized from them weighed around two kg and 14 gm. The vehicle used in the smuggling was impounded by police. The criminal history of the accused is being investigated, said police.
