30 ICU beds inaugurated at Srinagar medical college

Oxygen plants to be set up in distant parts of the state- CM
Thirty new ICU beds at the Srinagar medical college were dedicated to the public virtually by chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat from his residence here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Rawat said that amid the Covid pandemic, these ICU beds will prove helpful especially in the treatment of patients from Pauri, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Tehri districts. Majority of the patients from these districts come to Srinagar for treatment.
After the pandemic, these ICU beds will be utilised in the treatment of patients suffering from other ailments. Stating that all efforts are being undertaken to provide better medical treatment facilities in the state, he said that necessary facilities are also available in the medical colleges and district hospitals. The government is extending these facilities to community health centres and primary health centres. The chief minister said that soon oxygen plants will be established at Nainidanda, Thalisain and other distant parts of the state. Stressing on the need for observing vigilance now for the expected third wave of Covid-19, he said that separate arrangements for children should be made in all hospitals. Timely preparations should be made in this regard, he said.
The State minister for Higher Education and Disaster Management, Dhan Singh Rawat, Pauri district magistrate Vijay Jogdande, Pauri chief medical officer Dr Manoj Sharma and others were also present virtually on the occasion.
