Light rain and snowfall forecast in three mountain districts

The weather may take a slight turn in the State with very light to light rain/snowfall likely to occur at isolated places in the higher reaches of Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Rudraprayag districts on Sunday. Dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of Uttarakhand. According to the State meteorological centre, very light to light snowfall is likely to occur at isolated places situated at altitudes of 3,500 metres and above in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Rudraprayag districts.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear to partly cloudy sky on Sunday with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 28 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius respectively.
Meanwhile, some places in the higher altitudes experienced very light to light rain on Saturday. According to the meteorological centre, there was six millimetres of rain in Tapovan, 1.5 millimetres in Kedarnath and one millimetre each in Badrinath and Harshil. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 28.5 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 29.4 degrees Celsius and 15.8 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 17.5 degrees Celsius and 9.1 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 20.8 degrees Celsius and 10.3 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
