The leaders and workers of Uttarakhand Congress celebrated the birthday of former president of the party Sonia Gandhi on Friday. A number of workers assembled in the head office of the party unit at Rajpur Road under the leadership of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara and celebrated the birthday of Sonia Gandhi by cutting the cake and distributing sweets.
Speaking on the occasion Mahara said that Sonia Gandhi has set up an example of sacrifice and her guidance would always be available for the party. He exhorted the party workers to reach out to the masses and explain to them the policies of Sonia Gandhi and the party. After the programme the Congress leaders distributed fruits to the patients in different wards of the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital.
