Expresses fear that Modi govt can provide safe passage to the beleaguered businessmen
Terming the recent stock market crash as a major scam, the Uttarakhand unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded that the chairman of Adani group of industries, Gautam Adani should be arrested. Interacting with the media persons at new office of the party here on Saturday the Uttarakhand convenor of AAP, Jot Singh Bisht said that the prophecy made by some astrologers that the year 2023 would be a year of economic difficulty for the country has proven true by the events unfolding in the last 48 hours. He alleged that Adani had amassed immense wealth in the last few years by manipulating share markets and became the third richest person in the world. Now the American company Hindenburg Research has exposed Adani due to which the shares of his company have crashed.
The wealth of Adani has witnessed an erosion of Rs four lakh crore in the last 48 hours and the investors have lost their savings. Bisht said that the State Bank of India (SBI) and the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India who have given huge loans to Adani have come to the brink of collapse. He said that the government of India has failed to even react to the situation wherein the share markets have witnessed a slide of Rs 11 lakh crores. Bisht claimed that since Adani is a friend of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the central agencies such as Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax and others have not taken any action against him. The AAP leader said that it appears that the Modi government is giving an opportunity to the Adani to leave India like Mehul Chowksi, Vijay Mallya and Neerav Modi.
Launching an attack on PM Modi, the AAP leader said that during his reign India has borrowed Rs 100 lakh crore while the 14 PMs before him had taken loans to the tune of Rs 56 lakh crore. He claimed that the Uttarakhand government too has burdened the people of State with a huge load of loans.
The vice president of AAP’s State unit RP Raturi was also present on the occasion.
