Chamoli district magistrate Himanshu Khurana has directed the executing agency to ensure adequate number of workers and machinery in Badrinath for starting work at a brisk pace from March 1 on the Badrinath master plan. He said this while chairing a virtual meeting to review infrastructural development works as part of the Badrinath master plan and on the Hemkund route here on Monday.
He said that reconstruction works in Badrinath should be accorded top priority to make the Char Dham Yatra convenient. Work should be started on a war footing with deployment of adequate numbers of labourers and machinery there so that most of the works are completed before the start of the pilgrimage. Khurana directed the sub divisional magistrate to conduct a site inspection of the Yatra arrangements and provide estimation of necessary works for making the Yatra convenient soon. Reviewing works on the Hemkund route, the district magistrate directed that various works including railing, turn improvement, stone set pavement, benches, pilgrims shed, horse shelter and parking facility construction among others should be completed before the start of the pilgrimage.
