The Transport minister Chandan Ram Das conducted a surprise inspection of the Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) in Dehradun on Wednesday. The minister visited the ticket counters, the booking offices and sought information about the employees who were not present on the duty. Several employees came to their work stations when they received phone calls about the visit of the minister.
In the inspection Das also checked the sanitation situation and condition of the toilets in the ISBT.
The minister held interaction with the bus drivers, conductors and passengers. He later told media persons that he conducted a surprise visit of the Dehradun ISBT in view of the upcoming Char Dham Yatra. Expressing overall satisfaction he said that the condition of the roads inside the ISBT and sanitation condition was satisfactory. Das said that a sum of Rs five crores has been given by the MDDA for the Dehradun ISBT and many works are being undertaken by the PWD in the ISBT from this budget. He said that being a nerve centre of Dehradun the ISBT should remain free from any problems. The minister added that CM Dhami is also very concerned about improving passenger amenities and services in the ISBT. He said that during the visit he held interactions with the bus drivers and passengers and sought their views and suggestions for improving conditions.
