Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that cath lab facility would be made available in all the medical colleges of the State. He said that the MRI and CT scan machines would be installed in the district hospitals and the medical colleges. The CM made these announcements while addressing a programme organised on the occasion of Jan Aushadhi Kendra (JAK) at his residence on Tuesday. Congratulating the people of the State on the occasion of Holi, the CM said that it is very important to keep the body healthy and free from diseases. He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened JAK in all parts of the country due to which people are getting medicines at cheaper prices. The objective of the PM is that the person standing last on the social ladder should get the medical facilities and for this both the union and State governments are committed.
He said that JAKs are providing high quality medicines at cheap rates and the prices of more than 850 medicines are controlled by them. These centres are providing sanitary pads for only Rs one which is creating a positive effect on the health of girls and women. The CM said that the JAKs have become a strong medium of imparting service and creating employment opportunities. He said that more than one thousand JAKs in the country are being operated by women and in this way these centres are helping in making the women self-reliant. The CM said that due to the efforts of PM Modi free treatment and cheaper medicines are available for the people.
Speaking on the occasion, the health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the government is providing a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to those who are opening JAKs. He said that the State has a target to open 440 JAK and 225 JAKs are already operational in the State. The Minister said that one JAK each would be opened in the cooperative societies of all 670 Nyay Panchayats in the State. He said that the State government has taken a decision to provide education at home to more than 500 specially abled children. The minister said that a sharp increase in the institutional deliveries has occurred and one dialysis centre in every district is operational. The infant mortality rate has also decreased to 24 per thousand births and it would be further brought down to less than ten.
Cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi, Rajya Sabha MPs Naresh Bansal, Kalpana Saini, president of Uttarakhand BJP Mahendra Bhatt and others were present on the occasion.
