The buyers of residential units in Pushpanjali Orchid Park on Monday staged a protest outside the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) in Rajiv Gandhi Complex seeking action against the absconding builders who ran away with their money.
The protesters said that the builders Deepak Mittal and Rajpal Walia absconded with their hard-earned money amounting to Rs 45 crore in total. According to them, the builders of Pushpanjali Realms and Infratech Limited abandoned the project back in 2018 and the buyers were left without the apartments promised to them. Many are still paying rent and loan installments for apartments they never got despite paying for them.
The protesters said that the buyers have been seeking justice for the past four years and have appealed to authorities like RERA and higher authorities several times but no concrete action has been taken by any of them so far. They said that RERA has ignored their plea to implement Section 8 as per which the project could have been completed and apartments could be given to buyers.
The protesters said that buyers are losing their patience and want their apartments. The project even back then was running on delayed construction as per agreed upon builder buyer agreements. They said that they will intensify their protest if authorities fail to take cognisance of their issue soon.
