Teenager and a man killed in car accident in Tyuni

Two people including a 14-year-old boy died in a car accident on Raigi Road in Tyuni area of Dehradun district on Thursday.  The car was carrying five people including three children when the driver reportedly lost control and the car fell into a 400-metre deep gorge at around 3 PM. The officials said that the district control room informed the police about the accident at 3:30 PM which subsequently apprised the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) about the accident.

The police team reached the accident site which was about 12 kilometres away from the police station. The officials said that the police team found out that three people including a six-year-old boy were seriously injured and two were dead. The SDRF team and police with the help of locals recovered the bodies of the injured and were immediately taken to the hospital. The police have identified the injured as the driver Deewan Singh (40), Ritik Chauhan (16) and Naksh Chauhan.

The police also retrieved two bodies- Bunty Singh (14) and Chandan Singh (30). All the victims were residents of nearby Jhumra village who were on their way to Tyuni when the accident took place, officials said. The police carried out Panchnama of bodies and will proceed with further proceedings as per the law, said officials.
