Health secretary inspects Health ATMs on Yatra route

The Health secretary R Rajesh Kumar has said that the health services are being strengthened along the Char Dham Yatra route and the number of health ATMs would be increased soon.
Kumar inspected the health facilities in Srinagar in Pauri Garhwal on Thursday. Srinagar is a major station on the Char Dham Yatra route. Kumar also inspected the health ATMs installed at the sub district hospital Srinagar and Base hospital Srikot on the day. He directed the hospital administration that the health ATMs should be operated in a proper manner. He also directed that a technical person should be deployed in these ATMs so that the pilgrims do not face any problem in operating them. The health secretary directed the chief medical officer (CMO) of Pauri to make necessary arrangements for the Char Dham Yatra and directed the paramedical and other staff to work with promptness during the Yatra. He said that the Hewlett Packard enterprises under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity have installed 50 health ATMs at different health centres located on Char Dham Yatra route.
400 doctors to be deployed on Yatra route
The health department would deploy a total of 400 doctors in the health centres located on the Char Dham Yatra routes during the Yatra. These doctors would be deployed for a period of 15 days on a rotational basis. On the orders of health minister Dhan Singh Rawat the health department has reduced the duty days from 30 to 15 this year. Apart from doctors, paramedics and other health workers would also be deployed on the Char Dham Yatra route. The department would pay special allowance for the personnel deployed on the Yatra route.
A total 70 investigations including blood pressure (BP), sugar, body temperature, oxygen level, BMI, body fat index, dehydration and pulse rate would be done free of cost in these health ATMs
The secretary also directed the designated officer food safety of Pauri to undertake an extensive campaign to check the quality of food being served in different hotels and restaurants in the Yatra route. The CMO of Pauri Dr Pravin Kumar, Principal Srinagar medical college Dr CMS Rawat and others were present on the occasion.
