Cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal has said that the role of Panchayats is important in environmental protection and maintaining cleanliness. He was addressing a felicitation ceremony organised by the Sanguine We Care Welfare Society in association with Uttarakhand Heritage Media here on Monday. A total of 22 panchayat representatives were felicitated in the programme organised on the occasion of the National Panchayati Raj day.
Congratulating the awardees and organisers, the minister said that such ceremonies help in motivating and recognize the works by the dedicated elected representatives of the three tier Panchayati raj system. In the programme health expert Dr Ajay Nagarkar discussed about the role of Panchayats in ensuring best health services at grass root level. The president of the organisation Kanchan Negi informed about the objectives of the event.
