In latest Uttarakhand news, the State meteorological centre issued Orange Alert of heavy to extremely heavy rain for four districts of the State spread over both Garhwal and Kumaon regions-Bageshwar, Tehri, Pithoragarh and Dehradun. Informing this, the director of the State meteorological department Vikram Singh said that the spell of heavy shower would continue across the State till July 9. This aside, some other districts like Haridwar, Pauri, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital, Rudraprayag and Almora would record light to moderate showers with lightning. The weather department issued yellow alert for these districts.
