199 roads remain blocked in various parts of State

A number of roads including the Rishikesh-Yamunotri national highway have remained blocked in the State due to debris, landslides and other factors. According to the information provided by the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) about 199 roads were blocked in different parts of the State on Saturday. In Uttarkashi district the Rishikesh-Yamunotri national highway 94 is blocked at Paligad and Kharadi due to landslide.
The Rishikesh-Gangotri national highway 108 and Gangotri-Gaumukh trek are open. One national highway, one main district road and 25 rural motor roads are blocked in the district. While power supply to seven villages in Naitwad area is disrupted, the water supply to five villages in Bhatwadi, four in Dunda and one each Mori and Chinyalisaud is also disrupted. Efforts are underway to restore the power and water supply to the villages. One State highway, one main district road and 11 rural motor roads are blocked in the Tehri district while one State highway and two rural motor roads are blocked in the Haridwar district. The level of water in the Ganga at 4 PM was 292.85 metres which is below the danger level of 294 metres.
In the Chamoli district the Rishikesh-Badrinath national highway was blocked by water near Lambagad while the Karnprayag-Gairsain national highway was reported to be blocked at Sugla Kulsadi. While the Joshimath-Malari border road is open for traffic, two national highways, one State highway, one other district road and 21 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in the district. Similarly, in the Rudraprayag district the Rishikesh-Kedarnath national highway 107 was reported to be open to traffic and the Gaurikund-Kedarnath bridle path was also open whereas two State highways and 26 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in the district.
In Dehradun district, one other district road and 22 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked while three State highways, one main district road and 30 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in Pauri district. Two rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in Almora district while in Nainital district one State highway, one main district road and six rural motor roads were reported to be blocked. All national highways, State highways and rural motor roads were reported to be open in Udham Singh Nagar district. One main district road and nine rural motor roads were blocked in the Bageshwar district whereas in Champawat district four rural motor roads were reported to be blocked. Two border roads and 16 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in Pithoragarh district.
