40 girl students chosen for Udayan Shalini Fellowship

Forty girl students in Dehradun were chosen for scholarships under the Udayan Shalini Fellowship THDC India Limited director (Personnel) Shaillinder Singh presented certificates to the students at the induction ceremony. Singh appreciated the efforts of Udayan Care Trust founder Kiran Modi for helping improve the lives of children from deprived sections of society.
Singh also spoke about the transformation underway in India, where young women are dismantling gender biases and attaining greatness across various domains. He also exhorted the students to extend their hands in service to society, to be beacons of compassion and catalysts for change. USF Dehradun convenor Vimal Dabral informed that as part of the fellowship, meritorious girl students from economically weaker backgrounds are provided monthly scholarship for two to six years from class XI onward.
The students of government and aided schools are selected for the fellowship after a written test, interview, home visit and other steps. The selection process starts after declaration of the Uttarakhand board X results.
