The Bharatiya Janata Party State president Mahendra Bhatt has said that the people of Uttarakhand have made up their minds regarding the Lok Sabha elections and that the Dehradun visit of Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge will not have any effect. Bhatt said that the Uttarakhand tours of Congress leaders has not elicited any enthusiasm or reaction from the people of the State because the people have already made up their minds. Reacting to statements made by Congress leaders, he said that the BJP has so far completely fulfilled its election agenda whereas the people do not have faith in any promise made by the Congress. Referring to Kharge holding his election campaign in Devbhumi, Bhatt said that for those who do not respect the deities and Sanatan Dharma, this is just a drama. Compared to other States, the law and order situation in Uttarakhand is considerably better. The State government has brought strict laws against corruption. Other States are also now seriously considering implementing such laws, he said. On the subject of the Congress making an issue out of the process for securing permission to hold Kharge’s programme on Parade Ground, the BJP State president said that it was done mainly to gain public sympathy and grab news headlines. Not sure about the size of the crowd which would attend the event, the Congress finalised the Bannu school ground for the event, he added.
Bhatt claimed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s leadership, all round development is taking place in Uttarakhand. The State is witnessing unprecedented changes when it comes to employment generation, infrastructure, health, education, social welfare, security and the prosperity of the people.
Referring to Kharge’s Dehradun visit he said that the visit of the Congress president or any other leader will not have any effect on the politics in the State. The people of Uttarakhand will never forgive the party which was against the creation of Uttarakhand, which was against development when it was in office and has always remained anti-Sanatan. He opined that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has gauged the mood of the public. “The Bharat Jodo Yatra of the Congress was held in all States but it did not enter Uttarakhand. He promised the Congress leaders in Uttarakhand that he will come here but he did not do so. Now, he is undertaking the Nyay Yatra and this time too he will come upto Bareilly and return from there without visiting Uttarakhand. Rahul Gandhi lacks the moral courage to face the Sanatani public of Uttarakhand,” Bhatt said.
