In latest news from Doon, determined to let the polling pass off peacefully with largest- ever turnout, the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh conducted on the ground inspection at a number of booths in Kotwali Nagar, Patel Nagar and Nehru Colony areas.
Singh was visibly moved when he spoke to an elderly woman voter aged 87 years Devi Goyal at Hindu National College and learnt that she had seen the country’s maiden election held in 1951-52. She further told the SSP that she had never failed to exercise her franchise since the first election.
