Tourists throng Nainital during the summer and the district administration generally starts holding meetings to discuss preparations for the tourist season two months in advance. This time, the authorities have not held a single meeting regarding the tourists with April reaching its fag end. The Ma Naina Devi Nainital Vyapar Mandal has come forward and declared that it will hold a meeting on April 23. The district administration and police will also be invited to this meeting.
The Vyapar Mandal founding head Puneet Tandon said that the body will organise a meeting on Tuesday. All the stakeholders, representatives of the police and administration along with mediapersons will be invited to this meeting. The Kumaon commissioner, Nainital district magistrate, senior superintendent of police and municipality officials along with the superintendent of police (Traffic) will be invited to this meeting. “The Vyapar Mandal understands the situation faced by the police and administration. However, the meeting we are planning to organise should have been held by the authorities at least a month ago. The polling for the Lok Sabha election was held on Friday and now this important meeting for the tourist season can not be deferred any longer,” Tandon said.
