The administration on Sunday set up a separate help desk at the Char Dham Yatra transit camp in Rishikesh to help foreigners regarding Char Dham registration and related works. Several persons from Germany, Russia and America have gone to Char Dham shrines after registration on the weekend. Besides this, the administration is also displaying weather information of each Char Dham shrine on four LED screens in the transit camp in coordination with the Meteorological department to keep the pilgrims updated about the weather, the Dehradun district magistrate Sonika said. She said that the administration has also made arrangements to provide chairs and drinking water to people waiting in line for a long time

Besides this, facilities like a waiting room, drinking water, toilets, canteen and restroom are also available in the camp for pilgrims. A Bhandara was also organised on the weekend to ensure pilgrims can have food for free. So far, the administration has received a positive response from pilgrims, Sonika said. The Rishikesh municipal commissioner Shailendra Singh Negi informed that the Municipal Corporation of Rishikesh (MCR) has also installed 10 mobile toilets in the transit camp and ISBT, Rishikesh. All these toilets have 100 seats with 50 per cent of them being for women. The corporation has arranged water for the toilets with the help of Jal Sansthan. He informed that these mobile toilets are cleaned twice daily to ensure the pilgrims get clean toilets. He said that officials concerned are inspecting every arrangement on a daily basis to ensure pilgrims and tourists do not have to face any inconvenience in Rishikesh before they commence their journey to the Char Dham.
