In latest news from Uttarakhand, several villagers were evacuated after cloudburst triggered intense rain in Pauri and Uttarkashi districts. Over 25 houses in these two districts were damaged as they came under huge load of debris. Besides, a large swathe of farmland was ravaged by the rain. Some cowsheds were also swept away and a long stretch of Kotdwar-Baijro road was washed away.
Taking things seriously, the State cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj directed the administrative officers to rush relief materials to the affected people and restore the communication system at the earliest. He assured that the recent rain had had no impact on the ongoing Char Dham and it was continuing normally.
