Temperatures in most parts of Uttarakhand have dropped by a few notches while remaining above normal. The slight drop in temperatures has provided some relief though moisture in the plains along with the heat continues to cause inconvenience. The State meteorological centre has forecast that very light to light rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Tehri, Almora and Champawat districts on Saturday. Dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State today. Surface winds are likely to be strong and gusty during the day time in the plains of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly cloudy sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 39 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Friday were 38.2 degrees Celsius and 27.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 39 degrees Celsius and 25.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 23.8 degrees Celsius and 14.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 27.6 degrees Celsius and 18.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
