Crores benefitted from Yoga, India’s gift to the world: CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that India has given the world the gift of Yoga from which crores of people worldwide are getting benefit. The CM attended a programme organised near Parvati Kund at Adi Kailash in Pithoragarh district on the occasion of the 10th International Yoga Day on Friday. He also gave invitation to the pilgrims to visit Adi Kailash located at an altitude of 15,000 feet by participating in a Yoga session there.

The CM said that Yoga is the confluence of body, mind and soul.  He exhorted the people to include Yoga in their daily routine for physical, mental and emotional strength and to make other people aware about it.

In his address, the CM said that he is having the privilege of celebrating the International Yoga Day near the sacred Adi Kailash. The CM said that the picture of border villages is changing due to the efforts and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that after the visit of PM Modi in October last year, the number of tourists and pilgrims in Adi Kailash, Om Parvat, Kali temple and Vyas cave has increased.  He said that people of Uttarakhand gave blessings to BJP by giving all the five seats to it in the recent Lok Sabha elections. The CM said that in reply to the public support the PM has given the position of the Minister of State for Road Transport to Almora Pithoragarh MP Ajay Tamta. He expressed confidence that road connectivity works in the State will gather further momentum. He said the people of Darma, Vyas and Chaudas valley have kept the social culture and traditions alive and it is a matter of pride for Uttarakhand. 

 Dhami said that everyone in the border areas of Gunji, Nabi, Kuti, Nauti and Bundi will be connected to the main stream of development.

 The Union Minister of State for  Transport, Ajay Tamta, Dharchula MLA Harish Dhami, PWD secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat, DIG Yogendra Singh Rawat and others were present on the occasion.
