Chief secretary Radha Raturi has directed that the officers of the State secretariat should ensure prompt disposal of files on the e-office portal. She said that the officers and employees should give top priority to the review, processing and transmission of files on the e-office portal. The CS said that the tendency to keep the files pending affects the efficient functioning of any department and institution and causes delay in works related to public interest.
On a stern note, she directed the officers to dispose of the files within the stipulated time limit as per the protocol. Raturi asked the General Administration Department of secretariat to prepare an action plan to establish a daily review mechanism to monitor the status of pending files. She said that action will be taken against officers and employees responsible for undue delay in disposal of files. She said that the secretariat administration will submit a weekly report to her on the status of disposal of files.
The CS said appropriate technical improvements in the e-office portal on the suggestions of officers and employees for quick disposal of files and to make the e-office user friendly.
