Former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal has demanded that the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami should fulfill his promise that the Garhwal commissioner will remain permanently stationed in Pauri.
He said that during his recent visit, the CM had assured the people of Pauri that the old glory of the commissionerate in Pauri will be restored soon and had claimed that the commissioner will remain permanently stationed in Pauri. Godiyal said that the assurance of the CM has remained unfulfilled. He said that Uttarakhand has two commissionerate and Pauri used to be a prominent administrative and judicial centre prior to the creation of the separate State of Uttarakhand. Godiyal said that gradually Pauri lost its sheen. He warned that the Congress will start an agitation if the Garhwal commissioner is not stationed permanently in Pauri.
