U’khand to organise Tiranga campaign in all educational institutes

The education department of the State has decided to organise a ‘ Tiranga’ campaign in all the government and private  educational institutes . An order for this was given by the education minister Dhan Singh Rawat during a virtual meeting with the officers of school education, Sanskrit education, higher education and the medical education departments on Friday. The minister directed the officers that the Independence day should be celebrated in all the educational institutes and programmes should be organised on the day. He said that ‘Tiranga campaign’ will be compulsorily observed on any one day between August  11 to 14 in all government and private schools, Sanskrit schools, Colleges, Medical Colleges and Universities. The minister said that the objective of the programme is to inculcate the sentiment of patriotism in the students. He said that thousands of the students, teachers and officers of the department will take part in the Tiranga campaign.

The scouts and guides, rovers, rangers and volunteers of the National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet  Corps (NCC) will compulsorily take part in the campaign. Public representatives and other prominent members of the society will take part in the programmes in Block and district levels.

 Rawat said that activities such as Tiranga race, music, drawing, debate, singing and drama competitions will be organised in the schools during the campaign. The students will be informed about the national flag and freedom struggle in the schools during the Tiranga campaign. The stories of the bravery and  sacrifice of the freedom fighters will be told to the students.

Director higher education Anju Agarwal, director medical education Dr Ashutosh Sayana, director SCERT Vandana Gabriyal, director secondary education Ajay Naudiyal, director Sanskrit education Anand Bharadwaj, joint director primary education Raghunath Lal and others attended the meeting.
