In latest news from Doon, the State tourism minister Satpal Maharaj said that Mahadev Gangbhewa Bawadi Sthal in Vikasnagar (Pachwadoon) in Dehradun district – the site where the ancient sage Gautam Rishi did tapasya- would be developed to bring it on the tourist map. He said this
after offering prayer at the holy place. He also inspected the whole site. He further said that all the places with mythological/religious significance located across the State would be brought on the tourist map.
“Pachwadoon region has been of great importance since ancient times. Many Surya and Chandravashi kings performed big yagyas here. Many sages built their ashrams here and Mahadev Gangbhewa Bawadi temple is one of them,” he added.
