A father and his eight year old son lost their lives after being attacked by a swarm of wasps in Jaunpur block of Tehri. According to the officials, Sundarlal (47) and his son Abhishek were out grazing their cattle when the incident occurred on Sunday. A swarm of wasps suddenly attacked the duo when they were making their way through a forested area.
They said that in an effort to protect his son, Sundarlal threw himself over Abhishek, trying to shield him from the wasp attack. However, despite his attempt, both father and son sustained severe injuries from the wasp stings. The officials said that the villagers who were alerted to the situation rushed Sundarlal and Abhishek to the nearby sub-district hospital in Mussoorie. Doctors did their best to provide treatment but due to the severity of their injuries, the two could not be saved, they stated.
The officials said that as per the doctors, the wasp stings were extremely brutal and despite their best efforts, they were unable to save the victims. The police sent the body for postmortem and will take further action accordingly.
