The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress, Garima Dasauni has said that the alleged rape of a woman in the Raipur area of Dehradun on the first day of the festival of Navratri is unfortunate and shows the pathetic condition of law and order in the State. She said that there has been a spurt in the cases of crimes against women in the State and that the women are feeling unsafe.
Dasauni said that it appears as if there is no fear of police and administration in the rapists and criminals and the law and situation has gone on ventilator. She said that instead of preventing crimes the government is blaming every crime on demography change. Dasauni added that politics on a heinous crime such as rape should not happen. She expressed apprehension that the Raipur rape case can be dismissed in haste and added that the culprits should be booked and the victim should get justice.
