Accepting the demand of the agitating students for an early student union poll, the administration of Kumaun University’s DSB campus declared that the polls would be held on October 25. After the officiating registrar Rakesh Kumar Vishwakarma handed over a letter which contained the student union poll announcement to the agitating students, the latter postponed their sit-in. Vishwakarma said that the officials concerned had fixed the date at October 25 on which the polls in the university campuses and affiliated colleges would be held simultaneously.
