U’khand governor inaugurates conclave of VCs of North Zone

The governor lieutenant general ( retd) Gurmit Singh inaugurated the convention of vice chancellors of the North zone at Graphic Era institute of medical sciences on Tuesday. The VCs of more than 100 universities in the North zone are taking part in the convention. The event is being organised under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
Speaking on the occasion the governor said that the higher education scenario is passing through a phase of change. He said that technology is changing our lives and the way we work and learn.
The governor emphasised that the educational institutes should make efforts to adopt these changes.
He said that the higher education system should be associated with technical innovations for setting up a forward moving society which is based on knowledge, research and innovations.
The governor stressed on the use of online education, artificial intelligence, big data and cloud computing in higher education.
The higher education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the AIU is working to promote quality education. He said that the universities should adopt innovation and focus on improving their rankings.
