Winter chill remains elusive as temperatures remain above normal despite drop

The maximum temperature in Dehradun has remained below 30 degrees Celsius for some days now. However, with no rain yet in sight the maximum and minimum temperatures have remained a few notches above normal. The State meteorological centre has forecast that dry weather is likely to prevail in all districts of the State on Monday. The provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to witness a mainly clear sky with mist/haze likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 27 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Sunday were 27.9 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 28.6 degrees Celsius and 16.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 18.5 degrees Celsius and 8.1 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 19.6 degrees Celsius and 11.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The maximum temperature was one degree Celsius above normal while the minimum was two degrees above normal in Dehradun whereas the minimum was three degrees above normal in Pantnagar. The maximum was a degree above while the minimum was a degree below normal in Mukteshwar whereas the maximum was a degree below normal and the minimum was a degree above normal in New Tehri.
