Two senior citizens & one PRD jawan run over by vehicles early morning in two separate incidents

With fatal road accidents becoming a daily affair in the State, Dehradun witnessed two road accidents on the Monday morning leading to the deaths of three individuals including two senior citizens and a PRD personnel. Both incidents occurred within hours of each other, the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said. He informed that in the first incident, a vehicle fatally hit two elderly men near Jolly Grant in the Doiwala area.
The victims, identified as 74-year-old Bir Singh Bisht and 65-year-old Dalpati Singh, both from Jolly Grant area, were out for their morning walk when an unidentified vehicle struck them. The impact was severe and both men sustained critical injuries. Despite timely medical attention after being rushed to a hospital by ambulance, doctors declared them dead upon arrival, Singh said. He informed that the Doiwala police have begun an investigation and efforts are underway to trace the vehicle responsible for this hit and run. In another accident, a 35-year-old PRD personnel, Jang Bahadur, was killed while on duty near the Dat Kali temple tunnel in the Clement Town Police Station area.
Singh said that Bahadur, stationed with the State mobile squad, was performing routine vehicle checks with his team when a speeding black car with a Haryana registration swerved off the road and hit him. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, making a U-turn and speeding back toward Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Bahadur was immediately rushed to Mahant Indresh Hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after. The Clement Town police have registered a case against the unidentified driver and are actively searching for the suspect, the SSP said.
