The 10 charging stations, which are being installed, include two locations where work has already been completed—one in front of Gandhi Park and another in front of Parade Ground. These facilities will soon be inaugurated for public use by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, they added. The officials also noted that the introduction of the EV charging stations in the area will provide significant convenience for the public, while simultaneously contributing to the protection of Dehradun’s environment from pollution caused by vehicular emissions.

This pioneering initiative is expected to foster the development of Dehradun as a healthy city and serve as a foundational element in environmental stewardship. Additionally, it will inspire the community to engage more in environmental protection efforts. As the availability of EV infrastructure in the city increases, it is anticipated that public interest in electric vehicles will also rise, leading to a substantial reduction in both noise and air pollution, the officials added.
