1,314 nursing officers to be appointed in government medical colleges soon: Rawat

Appointments will be made in the near future to the 1,314 vacant posts of nursing officers in the government medical colleges under the Medical Education department and the Cancer Research Institute in Haldwani. The Medical Health and Medical Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat informed that the State Medical Service Selection Board has conducted the exam, released the result and the list of 1,314 candidates against the total 1,455 vacant posts of nursing officers.
The minister informed that since eligible candidates could not be found for 107 reserved posts, these have been carried forward while appointments will be made to 34 posts according to the decision of the court. The appointment of nursing officers in the government medical colleges will facilitate a further improvement in the medical treatment facilities in these medical colleges. The patients approaching these government medical colleges will also get better treatment following the appointment of the nursing officers, the minister added.
It is pertinent to mention here that the State government has been taking various steps including the appointment of doctors, nursing officers and other personnel in government hospitals and medical colleges. In addition to this, the government has also been focusing on further improving the infrastructure and facilities in the government medical facilities in order to improve the medical treatment facilities available to the citizens in various parts of the State.
