The current head of the Jyotishpeeth Badrinath
Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati launched the winter Char Dham Yatra at Chandi Ghat here after offering puja to the revered Ganga. He on the occasion appealed to the people across the world to embark on the winter pilgrimage to the four winter abodes of deities of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. Later, while talking to the mediapersons, he urged the Centre to withdraw the security being provided to the deposed Prime Minister of Bangladesh Shiekh Hasina to stop the atrocities the Hindu minorities of the country are being subjected to. He also urged the Centre to tell Hasina to return to her country. He attributed the persecution of the Hindus in Bangladesh to the shelter the Government of India had provided to the ousted PM of the neighbouring country.
