Rain and snowfall expected to bring temperatures down today
Weather forecast to change in Dehradun and seven other districts on Monday

Parts of the State are forecast to witness light rain and snowfall on Monday. This is expected to bring the temperature down further by a few notches. The State Meteorological Centre has forecast that very light to light rainfall/snowfall is likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Tehri, Dehradun, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and Almora districts today. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky with the possibility of very light rainfall in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 21 degrees Celsius and six degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. Even on Sunday the minimum temperature in plain areas including Dehradun, Pantnagar and Udham Singh Nagar was lower than the minimum temperature in mountainous locations like Pithoragarh and Pauri, according to information from the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC). The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Sunday were 24.5 degrees Celsius and 7.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 23.7 degrees Celsius and 3.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 16 degrees Celsius and 3.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 17.1 degrees Celsius and five degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
Meanwhile, according to the information provided by the SEOC, the minimum temperature in Pithoragarh on Sunday was 15 degrees Celsius with the weather remaining clear. Amidst clear weather, the minimum temperature in Almora was five degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was two degrees Celsius in Rudraprayag. Similarly, the minimum temperature was four degrees Celsius in Uttarkashi and 11 degrees Celsius in Pauri. In Bageshwar district the minimum temperature was five degrees Celsius. In Champawat district the minimum temperature was 4.5 degrees Celsius while in Udham Singh Nagar it was five degrees Celsius and in Nainital it was six degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Haridwar was recorded at seven degrees Celsius and at five degrees Celsius in Chamoli. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to get colder on Monday with both the maximum and minimum temperatures set to drop by a notch. Similarly, other mountainous and plain regions in the State may also get colder following light rain and snowfall forecast today.
