While addressing ‘Gang Dhara: Ever-flowing Stream of Ideas’ being organised at Doon University, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said his government would set up a Centre for Hindu Studies where research would be done into the deeper aspects of the Hindu religion like history, evolution and civilisation. Appreciating the DU initiative, he said that such programmes play crucial role in preserving the genius of the ancient Indian culture and impacting positively the social life.

He further mentioned the important policies his government had brought about like the new tourism and film policies aside from the Uniform Civil Code which would be implemented from January next.  Also, he spoke of the stringent anti-encroachment drives and introduction of anti-conversion law, anti-copying law and anti-riot law.

Among the dignitaries present were the former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, MLA Vinod Chamoli and the vice-chancellor Doon University Surekha Dangwal.
