Scholars for putting modern knowledge in Indian perspective

While addressing the two-day national seminar on ‘Indian traditional thought and knowledge: Possibilities from political ecology’ held in Kumaun University, Nainital, the KU’s vice- chancellor Prof Diwan Singh Rawat said that knowledge in many subjects like mathematics, astrology, chemistry, Ayurveda and yoga among others is available as a priceless heritage in Indian knowledge and thinking which needs to be presented before the world in a scientific and logical manner imbued with the Indian perspective.  A large number of academicians from educational institutions and senior education department officers from across the country was present.

In his presidential address, the VC of Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Rajasthan Prof Manoj Dixit said that the scholars of modern India, including Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, had tried to apply the thinking of the ancient sages to the practical problems of the present-day India.   The former VC of Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari, Bihar Prof Sanjeev Kumar Sharma stressed on presenting the modern knowledge in the context of the Indian perspective, thus increasing the relevance of the Indian political and other thoughts and at the same time enriching such knowledge through research, seminars, debates and discussions.

On this occasion, two books written by Kamna Jain and Nishu Bhati were released, titled India’s G-20 Presidency: A Shared Global Future and One Nation, One Election: Relevance and Challenges.
