Covid-19 contagion on decline in U’khand

Four deaths, 226 new cases of the disease reported on Saturday. Recovery percentage from the disease climbs to 94.47

Even as the vaccination drive against the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) started on good note in Uttarakhand on Saturday, the contagion of the disease is rapidly declining in the state. The state health department reported only 226 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday after which the number of patients of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in the state climbed to 94691. The department also reported the death of four patients of the disease on the day after which the death toll mounted to 1606 in the state. The health department discharged 272 patients from different hospitals on Friday. A total of 89182 patients have recovered from the disease so far in the state. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 94.47 and the sample positivity rate is 4.79 percent.

Two patients of Covid-19 were reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Saturday. Similarly one patient each succumbed to the disease at District hospital Chamoli and Sushila Tiwari government hospital, Haldwani on the day.

The authorities reported 90 new cases of the disease from Dehradun, 40 from Nainital, 31 from Haridwar, 18 from Udham Singh Nagar, 14 from Almora, nine from Tehri, six from Chamoli and two each from Champawat, Pauri, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi on Saturday.

With increased number of recoveries and less number of new cases of the disease, the number of active patients of the disease is on decline. The state now has only 2349 active cases of the disease. Dehradun district has maximum number of active cases (549) followed by Nainital (430) and Haridwar (300). Champawat now has only 28 active cases of the disease and is at bottom of the table of active cases of the disease.
