Female director accuses secretary of harassment
Director Culture Beena Bhatt levels harassment allegations on Secretary Dilip Jawalkar
A letter written by Director culture to the additional chief secretary Radha Raturi in which she has allegedly accused the secretary Dilip Jawalkar for harassing and insulting her has sent the administration of the state into a tizzy. The letter was reportedly written by Director culture Beena Bhatt last month and the copies of it have been marked to chief secretary Om Prakash and the state women commission.
In the letter Bhatt accused that the secretary Jawalkar of deliberately putting on hold the file of her promotion for two and half years and when she finally got promoted to the post of Director on the orders of Uttarakhand High Court (HC) on September 7, 2020, the secretary promptly constituted a post of Director General (DG) in the department and placed Anand Swaroop in that post.
Further, in the letter she also said that her grade pay is Rs 8900 while the grade pay of DG is Rs 7600 only. Bhatt has also made shocking allegations that both secretary and DG made derogatory comments on her and alleged that it comes under sexual harassment at work place act of 2013.
When contacted the secretary Jawalkar told The Pioneer that he has got information of the complaint from the media only. The secretary however added that he would submit his reply to the authorities and court accordingly when asked.
Bhatt told The Pioneer that she has written a letter to the authorities but refused to say anything when asked to elaborate on the status of her complaint.
