Demands Govt fulfill its promise to facilitate free vaccination for citizens

Taking cognisance of alleged profiteering in the task of paid vaccinations, the leader of opposition and Haldwani MLA, Indira Hridayesh has strongly objected to this. She said that it had been brought to her notice that rampant profiteering is being indulged into under the guise of paid vaccination in the state. She said that this is ethically unacceptable. Hridayesh said that the state government had promised that it would facilitate free vaccination for those in the 18 to 45 years age group and those aged above this age group. However, this is not being seen happening in the state. Taking advantage of this situation, some of those facilitating paid vaccination are charging up to double and triple rate to facilitate vaccination. This is not affordable for the poor and general public, apart from which it is also highly objectionable from the ethical point of view, she said.

The leader of opposition has asked the chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat and the state government to take strict action against such profiteering. She said that the government should fulfill its promise to the people and facilitate free vaccination for all at the earliest. The state government does not have the right to remain in office if it is unable to stop profiteering and facilitate free vaccination for the citizens, added Hridayesh.
