Harish Rawat praises Kishore for forest rights campaign

In a development which is being viewed as an attempt by former chief minister and general secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC), Harish Rawat to build bridges with former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Kishore Upadhyaya, Rawat has heaped praise on Upadhyaya for his role in promoting Uttarakhandiyat.
The former CM took to social media to appreciate Kishore Upadhyaya. Remembering Upadhyaya’s role in the struggle for giving rights to affected people of Tehri dam project, Rawat said he fully supports Upadhyaya’s mission for forest dwellers rights.
“The forest dwellers act is due to Sonia Gandhi and as her staunch supporter Upadhyaya has launched a mission. It is very important that the Congress party comes to power in Uttarakhand so that the mission of Upadhyaya is carried forward,’’ he said.
