Power houses of the UJVN Limited hydro power projects achieved record power generation in the month of August. The power houses of the 304 MW Maneri Bhali II on the Bhagirathi in Uttarkashi district, the 240 MW Chibro and 120 MW Khodri projects on the Tons river in Dehradun district generated record electricity during August this year.
The UJVNL managing director Sandeep Singhal informed that the Dharasu power house of Maneri Bhali II project generated 203.187 million units (MU) electricity in August which is the highest generation in this plant during the month of August in any year so far. This power house had last generated the highest- 202.47 MU during August in 2018. Compared to its target for the financial year 2021-22 till August- 740 MU, the project has generated 769.253 MU.
Singhal further informed that at Chibro 143.28 MU was generated in August this year which is the highest during the month since the creation of Uttarakhand state. The previous highest generation in Chibro was 140.49 MU in August 2018. Similarly, 63.814 MU was generated at Khodri power house during August which is the highest generated at this plant during August in any year. The previous highest generation here during August was 63.709 MU in 1999.
