The Dehradun district magistrate R Rajesh Kumar has issued a show-cause notice to officials in-charge of Covid-19 vaccination in three blocks for inefficient work during the vaccination drive. Kumar said that despite repeated verbal and written orders to the officials to ensure cent per cent vaccination against Covid-19, the officials in-charge of vaccination in Sahaspur, Raipur and Vikasnagar blocks adopted an incompetent work system and had failed to provide expected results.
Besides this, the DM said that the numbers of Covid vaccination certificates issued in rural areas of these blocks are also low. Considering this, Kumar has issued show-cause notices to the three officials and has asked them to present their stand on the issue within three days before him.
As per the issued notices, if the DM does not receive any response within the given time or finds it to be unsatisfactory, the administration will not issue this month’s salary to these officials. The DM said that the administration will not tolerate any discrepancies in vaccination drive and stringent action will be taken against those working inefficiently. He also directed officials in-charge of Covid vaccination in other blocks to attain 100 per cent vaccination target for the first dose besides increasing the vaccination process for the second dose.
