The opposition Congress would try to corner the government on the issues of worsening law and order, unemployment and price rise during the winter session of Uttarakhand assembly. With assembly elections not far away the Congress MLAs would be eager to score political points on the government in what could be the last assembly session of this government. The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Pritam Singh said that though the  duration of winter session of the assembly is very short and it is not possible to solve all the issues of  public interest the Congress party would corner the government on the issue  of law and order, rising prices and unemployment.
It is learnt that the Congress members would try to bring in a work adjournment motion on the issue of what it terms worsening law and order situation in the state. The party has taken a very serious note of the recent attack on former minister Yashpal Arya and his son in Bajpur recently. The head of campaign committee of Uttarakhand Congress and former chief minister Harish Rawat has made attack on Arya as a major issue and has linked it with the law and order situation in the state. The Congress is also expected to press for discussion on the issue of Devasthanam board when the government would table the Char Dham Devasthanam Management ( repeal) bill in the house.
