In clear indication that the factional fight in Uttarakhand Congress has reached its peak ahead of the crucial elections of the state assembly, the former Chief Minister Harish Rawat has put a question mark on the role of party high command for handling things in Uttarakhand .
In one of his tweets on Wednesday which created a political storm in the Uttarakhand Congress, Harish Rawat said that instead of extending a helping hand the organisational structure is either playing a negative role or not cooperating in many places during the ongoing electoral battle. In an apparent attack on the role of high command and his detractors in the party Rawat said that the many crocodiles have been left in the sea in which he is swimming. He further added that the representatives of those on whose orders he would swim are tying his limbs. In a clear indication that he has got exasperated by the situation Rawat said at times the idea of rest ( Retirement ?) comes to his mind.
It is pertinent to mention here that many times in the past Rawat has expressed his desire that the party should project a face in the electoral battle of Uttarakhand. The party high command however is towing a line of ‘collective leadership’ in the state which has not gone down well with Rawat and his supporters. The camp followers of Rawat point out that in all the surveys Rawat is on top of the people’s choice for CM of the state.
